Which devices are supported?
HomeDeck is built for iPad running iPadOS 18 or later and Apple TV running tvOS 26 or later. The Universal purchase unlocks both versions.
Can HomeDeck replace a dedicated family calendar display?
If you already own an iPad or Apple TV, HomeDeck can keep a shared Apple Calendar, weather, cameras, and home controls visible without another wall display. Calendar selection is configured on iPad and syncs through iCloud.
How do purchases work?
HomeDeck is a one-time, non-consumable App Store purchase with no subscription. Choose iPad, Apple TV, or Universal to unlock both versions.
Do I need Apple Home and HomeKit?
Yes. HomeDeck is a dashboard for the homes, rooms, accessories, scenes and compatible cameras you already use in Apple Home. Available controls depend on the HomeKit accessories and permissions in your home.
Does HomeDeck replace a home hub?
No. HomeDeck does not turn an iPad into a home hub and does not add a new hub requirement. HomePod or Apple TV remains responsible for Apple Home features such as remote access, automations, sharing, notifications and Matter accessories.

Apple does not expose HomePod, Apple TV, or HomePod's built-in temperature and humidity sensors to third-party apps through the public HomeKit API. Those readings remain available in Apple Home and through Siri. HomeDeck displays every sensor that HomeKit makes available to third-party apps.
Will HomeDeck support devices that don't work with HomeKit?
Plugin support is coming soon. Plugins will let HomeDeck connect to supported third-party platforms and add devices that are not available through HomeKit out of the box. Available brands and device types will depend on the installed plugins.
Why do some security controls not appear on Apple TV?
Apple applies additional protection to sensitive HomeKit accessories such as door locks and security systems on Apple TV. HomeDeck follows these platform safeguards, so those accessories are not shown as direct controls there. Use Apple Home or HomeDeck on iPad when you need to manage them.
What can I do with Siri?
You can use Siri and Shortcuts to run HomeKit scenes, turn supported accessories on or off, and open your rooms in HomeDeck. Commands use the same HomeKit data and permissions as the app.
Which languages does HomeDeck support?
HomeDeck is available in English, German, French, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. It follows the language selected for your device.
How does HomeDeck handle my privacy?
HomeKit data, compatible camera feeds, location, music and preferences stay on your devices and within Apple services. HomeDeck has no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
